A Personal Chef Service is a personalized, professional cooking service that provides meal planning and preparation for busy people and busy families, as well as for other clients, on a weekly or monthly basis. This service provides the people on the go with the opportunity to enjoy nutritious home cooked meals in the comfort of their own home. Today's hectic lifestyles don't mean you have to give up delicious cuisine on your own dinner table. As a Personal Chef Service, Supper Wizard offers a diverse array of special menus. Our menus include home-style, gourmet, ethnic, bistro, BBQ ready, kids favorites and special diets, Special diet menus include low fat, diabetic, vegetarian, heart-healthy, gluten-free, allergy-restricted, and many others. A Personal Chef Service is also a wonderful way to make sure family and relatives are getting the nutritious meals they need.
What does a personal chef do?
As a Personal Chef Service, Supper Wizard takes over your kitchen and frees you from the tasks of planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning up, whether for your day-to-day meals, a romantic dinner for 2, dinner parties for 12, or your special occasions. All cooking is done in your kitchen, but we bring all the equipment needed to prepare your meals. You come home to delectable aromas and the peace of mind of knowing that dinner is taken care of. Supper Wizard also offers in-home cooking lessons and interactive dinner parties.
How does a personal chef service work?
It’s simple. You contact us and we schedule a time for Chef Larry to visit your home and discuss your food preference and dietary needs. This provides us with information we need to develop customer menus you are sure to love.
We compare calendars and set a date for your service and you prepay for the service at this time. We do not process your check sooner than 24 hours prior to the service date.
We create your personalized menu for your approval.
On the scheduled service day we arrive at your home with freshly purchased groceries and all of our own supplies and equipment.
We prepare all of the meals on your customized menu and package, label and store it in your refrigerator and freezer. You can enjoy the meals at your convenience.
Your kitchen will be spotless and you will have a set of heating instructions for your entire menu.

Supper Wizard can work with your doctor, dietician, nutritionist, or personal trainer to prepare meals to your diet’s specifications.
Where do you do the cooking?
Supper Wizard does all food preparation in your home. We bring all the equipment and utensils needed to prepare the food. We use only your stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and sink. We clean thoroughly when we are done and take all trash and recyclables with us.
How much time will you need in my kitchen?
A typical Supper Wizard cook day has us in your home for approximately 5-7 hours, depending on the menu. For cooking classes, we typically need approximately 2 1/2 hours of prep time prior to the start of class.
How many different entrees do you prepare each service?
A typical Supper Wizard cook day includes five different entrées using a variety of proteins with appropriate side dishes (the number of portions will depend on the number of people enjoying the meals). We will not repeat an entrée for at least 3 months unless you request it.
Do I need to be home when you're here?
Not at all. In fact, most clients are not home while Supper Wizard is making mealtime magic. They just provide a key and the alarm code, if necessary. We treat your home and contents with respect. We do not answer your phone while we are in your home.
I want to learn how to cook; can you give me a cooking lesson while you're doing the service?
As you can imagine, preparing five different entrees and side dishes takes a considerable amount of time and concentration. Supper Wizard is unable to provide cooking lessons while performing your service. However, Chef Larry will be happy to schedule a separate session that can be devoted to cooking lessons based upon what you'd like to learn (see the cooking lessons tab for more information).
Are all the meals frozen?
The majority of your meals prepared by Supper Wizard will be stored in your freezer. We typically store a couple of meals in your refrigerator to be eaten the first few nights after the cook day. You may also opt for a weekly fresh-serve menu. As a personal chef service, Supper Wizard tailors menus to match your preferences.
What does your service fee cover?
Supper Wizard's service fee is all inclusive. It covers the menu planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, pantry items (spices, oils, vinegars, condiments) and food packaging required for your meals. The Tennessee Department of Revenue requires us to charge sales tax on the total service.
How much room do you need in my refrigerator and freezer?
Supper Wizard typically needs at least 1-2 shelves in your freezer and half a shelf in your refrigerator. If we are preparing 30-40 packages of food, then a separate freezer is required.
What areas do you service?
For traditional personal chef services, cooking classes, and dinner parties Supper Wizard Makes Mealtime Magic throughout middle Tennessee. While we are based in Nashville, we service clients from Gallatin to Murfreesboro and from Lebanon to Bellevue.
I just need a couple of nights of food per week; can you do this?
The most economical option to take advantage of Supper Wizard is for us to prepare a variety of meals at once. Most clients use Supper Wizard for the standard 10-day service on a monthly basis. They still go out to eat, travel or prepare meals themselves.
Do I have to sign up for a regular schedule, or can I just call you when I need you?
Supper Wizard services are designed for people looking for a long-term solution to their “What’s for dinner?” dilemma. We schedule each client on a standing cook date, whether it's weekly, bi-weekly or monthly; ensuring clients a regular place in the Supper Wizard schedule. We are happy to work with new clients to schedule cook dates.
Do you offer gift certificates?
A Supper Wizard gift certificate makes a wonderful wedding gift, a way to relieve stress for a new mom, a way to let a friend recovering from a hospital stay know you are thinking of them. Supper Wizard gift certificates are available for traditional personal chef services, cooking classes, and dinner parties. Supper Wizard will be glad to work with you to customize a gift certificate to match your needs.
